Many times we think if we pray once and Our Heavenly Father doesn’t answer us, then it’s not His will. #notnecessarily
Sometimes we also think if we pray once, and He doesn’t answer us immediately, then we shouldn’t pray the same prayer again because we’d be bugging him. #wrongagain
Here is why you should NOT stop praying after one simple prayer.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, “ Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
Matthew 7:7 says, “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.”
#clearmuch??
So let me break it down a little.
There are some times when I pray to my Abba Father, and He answers me immediately.
Other times, I pray to Him and He tells me to wait. Then He gives me the answer in His timing.
Then there are other times when He’s silent, but He reveals the answer to me as I calm down (when I’m no longer anxious for the answer). He responds to me as I go about doing my life as usual.
Another way He responds is in the form of miracles, which sometimes is a process instead of an immediate answer. This is the one I really want to discuss.
Clearly, He tells us in the scriptures above to make prayer our lifestyle. So, it’s not just a hit it and quit it type of deal. Do you remember when the disciples were trying to cast a demon out of a young man?? Jesus said in Matthew 17:21, “However, this kind does not come out except by prayer and fasting.”
Sometimes our miracles or even answered prayers manifest incrementally. Think about trying to chop down a tree that’s been rooted for 50 years. The tree is NOT coming down with one swing of the ax. MULTIPLE swings need to be thrown to take it down. Think of your prayers as swings of an ax. If the first swing doesn’t do it, keep praying baby, you never know if the 10th or the 35th prayer will do it.
Let me be clear, it’s not your prayer that is manifesting the answer you desire. It’s Our Heavenly Father’s POWER behind your prayer that brings forth things from the spiritual realm into the physical world.
There’s soooo much more on spiritual warfare that’s involved when we lift our prayers up to Him. That’s an entirely separate blog or video post. Whew! For now, take some time to marinate on the truths He led me to put forth in this post.
If you are still praying about a thing, don’t give up, unless He says #issano. Also, don’t beg or plead for the answer. When you speak to your Heavenly Father, it needs to be done in faith that you are praying according to His Word, you have full confidence that He loves you and hears you, and it’s His delight to see you–His child, prosper!
Cheers to a strong prayer life! Drop your thoughts in the comments below. I’d love to hear about your prayer life and join you in believing!
In love,
His Daughter
