-To Follow Christ, You Need To Have Some Chill-

 

Are you always crunk, slightly hype all the time? Are you known to be the one who is always “on one?” Do you have a type A personality, and you enjoy being in control? Are you a planner? Do you thrive on knowing details before you take a risk? If you answered yes to any of those questions….this post is for YOU!

I’ll go ahead and put myself out there for the sake of this post. Healing and progress begin with admittance right? Ha! Let’s just say there is a thread of all of those characteristics in me that I inquired of above. Yup, I’m a work in progress just like everyone else.

Don’t misunderstand me. I don’t mention those qualities to shame anyone’s personality-because the truth is, those are actually great traits to possess when they are BALANCED and CHANNELED in the right direction. Great leaders bloom from the soil of those personality traits. However, when you have “no chill,” absolutely no ability to scale back your personality when in the presence of the Most High King….therein lies the problem.

Now, of course Daddy God knows exactly how He made you. He knows your quirks, passion, and zeal. Yet we all know that anything out of balance is WEAKNESS. Let me say it another way. ANY STRENGTH OUT OF BALANCE IS WEAKNESS. Go ahead and put a #facts behind that one.

Let me get to the point. Lately I’ve been trying to go ahead of my Abba Father in different areas of my life. Peep my usage of the word “go ahead. Lol…aka…pride…aka…controlling….aka you’re just doing tew much gurl. As you develop in your spiritual walk, and He begins to share His secrets with you, it’s important that you really begin to HUMBLE yourself. Otherwise you’ll kick into gear trying to put His plans in motion ahead of His timetable for His own movement! Ouuuuweeee! Now that’s dangerous!

The point of Him sharing secrets with you is not so that you can manipulate them to happen on your timetable or even so that you can bring them into manifestation. No, no, no daughter. The point of Him revealing secrets is so that you can prepare, plan, and execute accordingly when He gives the green light. In the last post we discussed how not every revelation is a “right now” manifestation. Some revelation is for an “appointed time.” Remember what Our Father said in Genesis 18:14?

 ^“Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”

I’ll close with this bit of loving counsel. Sis, you have to chill out. Stop trying to rush ahead of your loving, gracious, and merciful Father just because He told you of things to come that haven’t actually manifested yet. You are going to wear yourself thin and frustrate the living lights out of yourself! I know you’re excited about the good plans He has for you as He mentioned in Jeremiah 29:11, but you must give your pride the backseat when you are in the presence of your Holy Father who knows your end from your beginning. Isaiah 46:10 reminds us:

“I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.”

Just calm down and receive sis. You are royalty. Allow your Father, The King of All Kings, to spoil you in His perfect timing. Even Jesus knew there was a time to be hype and flip tables like He did in Matthew 21:12, (I would have been right there flipping tables with Him…smh) and yet there is also a time to stand in His peace and let your Daddy God manifest for you as was the case in Exodus 14:14-

“The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

(I would have been there too–sittin purrttyyy watching prepare that table in the presence of my enemies…#shonuf)

Sis we’re in this together. Let’s hold hands, and be still as Our Father works His perfection and timing in us, so we can properly receive all the GREATNESS He has in store for us. He’s got us! Hold on to His Word honey! He’s never failed, and He surely isn’t going to begin with us!
