Have you ever noticed when Daddy God gave visions in the Bible, more times than not, those visions were for “appointed times.” Many times when we receive a vision or revelation from Our Heavenly Father regarding our lives, we try to make it come to pass immediately. Especially when it doesn’t look like what He said. We even go as far as to manipulate situations so they can “look” like the visions He’s given us. If you haven’t been made privy yet, God does NOT need your help manifesting what He said He would do on His own.
Please don’t misunderstand me. There are times when He bestows vision and revelation on us and it is for an immediate or short term manifestation. For example, I once was in a store and He told me to speak to a woman who was a stranger to me. He also gave me information about this woman. That was not a Word with a delayed manifestation. That was a revelation He intended for me to act on in that moment. Years back, He told me to leave a specific job that I was working. He didn’t tell me in 3 months I want you to resign. He wanted me to do it right then and there because I was out of alignment with the purpose and call He had on my life.
Then there are other times when He gives us information in the form of a vision that functions on His perfect timing to bring to pass. Take for example Joseph who had dreams as a young boy. In Genesis 37:5 regarding Joseph and his brothers, it says,
“Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more.”
Did you know Joseph was 17 years old when he had that dream? God didn’t manifest that dream until Joseph was 30 years old! Let’s look at another example.
In Luke 1:31-33, the Angel Gabriel went to Mary and said,
“Don’t be afraid, Mary. You have found favor[a] with God.
31 You will become pregnant, give birth to a son,
and name him Jesus.
32 He will be a great man
and will be called the Son of the Most High.
The Lord God will give him
the throne of his ancestor David.
33 Your son will be king of Jacob’s people forever,
and his kingdom will never end.”
Notice how Mary was told, while she was a young virgin that she would give birth to the Savior of the world. Although she did conceive shortly after that, the understanding and manifestation of who Jesus was as Savior didn’t transpire until He was 33 years old!! That vision and revelation that Mary received before Jesus was born didn’t come to pass until He was a full grown man! Wow! Talk about waiting!
I explicate all of this to remind you of what Habakkuk 2:3 says,
“For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.”
Just because Our Father may have given you revelation about a matter that is to come doesn’t mean that you take matters into your own hands and manipulate it into to happening on your timetable. Repent if you’ve gone ahead of Him. Humble yourself, submit your will to Him, and allow Him to bring that vision to pass at His appointed time. Sometimes He tells us His secrets. That’s simply because we are His and He calls us friend. John 15:15 says,
“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”
Don’t you like to tell your friends secrets? Yet, you trust them not to move prematurely on what you’ve told them in confidence right? It’s the same thing with Our Father. He gets giddy too and likes to share top secret stuff with us too. Yet He trusts us to wait with hope, joy, and great expectation of His deliverance on those things.
Be encouraged today! What He spoke WILL come to pass. You must discern the timing, and be a good steward over what was disclosed to you before others. His Word is bond!
Numbers 23:19 God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?
